Palm Beach County Officer Indicted for Manslaughter and Attempted Murder




Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg announced the findings of a grand jury in the death of Corey Jones.  The grand jury voted to indict Officer Nouman Rafa of manslaughter and attempted first degree murder.  At the time of the shooting, Corey Jones’ was on the phone with a road assistance operator. That call was recorded.  The officer, who was in plain clothes driving an unmarked van, did not identify himself as a police officer.  At some point, Jones armed himself at during the incident. The recording showed that three shots were fired very quickly followed by about 10 seconds and then three more shots.   Those shots came from the officer.  Read more: Indictment in Corey Jones shooting death
