You do not have to have the drugs “on you” to be charged with possession. Florida law states that you can be in actual possession of a substance (you have it on you) or you can be in constructive possession of a substance (you are close to the drugs, you know that they are there, and you have the ability to control the drugs or the place where the drugs are found. Also, under certain circumstances, you can be charged with possession of drugs when someone with you has drugs on them.
